Darren & Lilia
Darren & Lilia
As Strictly Come Dancing's most successful couple Darren & Lilia need little introduction. They first got together in 1997 and it only took 15 minutes for them to realise how good they were together. Just 4 months later they won the International and British Youth Championships. As amateurs they went on to win the British National Latin Championships four times. Turning professional in 2003, they won the British National professional Championship two years running and made the final of the World and European Championships and today they are still regarded as one of Britain's finest Latin American dance couples.

In 2004 they joined the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing when Darren won the competition and Christmas Special with Jill Halfpenny and scored the show's first maximum score of 40 for their Jive. In 2005 Lilia won both titles with Darren Gough and made the final the following year with Matt Dawson. In 2007 Lilia won the Christmas Special again when Darren Gough made a return for the one-off show and Darren matched this with Jill Halfpenny in 2008.
In 2006, Universal offered Lilia the chance to release her own fitness DVD and Latinasize became one of the top fitness DVD's of the year. This was followed up in 2007 with her latest fitness DVD, Latinatone. Then in 2008 Darren & Lilia's success as dancers and choreographers saw them invited to appear as 'guest dancers' with the English National Ballet in their production of Strictly Gershwin at the Royal Albert Hall.

It has long been their dream to choreograph and perform their very own show, and they hope their passion for Latin American dance which is at the core of Latin Fever, will inspire audiences new and old as they are taken on a trip around the world of Latin American dance.
