Darren & Lilia As Strictly Come Dancing's most successful couple Darren & Lilia need little introduction. They first got together in 1997 and it only took 15 minutes for them to realise how good they were together. Just 4 months later they won the International and British Youth Championships. As amateurs they went on to win the British National Latin Championships four times. Turning professional in 2003, they won the British National professional Championship two years running and made the final of the World and European Championships and today they are still regarded as one of Britain's finest Latin American dance couples. They joined the cast of Strictly Come Dancing in 2004 and immediately won the show in consecutive years. Then in 2008 their success as dancers and choreographers saw them invited to appear as 'guest dancers' with the English National Ballet in their production of Strictly Gershwin at the Royal Albert Hall. Now, after a sell-out run in London's West End in 2009 Darren & Lilia have brought Latin Fever to a wider audience with their first UK wide tour and hope their passion for Latin American dance which is at the core of Latin Fever, will inspire audiences new and old as they are taken on a trip around the world of Latin American dance. |
